[ARCHIVED] Construction at Veterans Memorial Plaza nears completion

Battle Cross at Veterans Memorial Plaza

Battle Cross at Veterans Memorial PlazaWe are thrilled to share the latest addition to Veterans Memorial Plaza! Battle crosses hold deep significance within the military community. They serve as a powerful reminder of the high cost of freedom and the bravery of those who have given their lives for their country.

Unfortunately, the City has received reports of individuals attempting to enter the memorial grounds. At this time, only permitted City staff and construction workers are allowed inside of the orange fence. The memorial is still an active construction site and is not yet ready for public visits. We want to ensure everyone's safety during this time. We kindly ask for your understanding and support. Our excitement for an up-close look at the memorial is growing too! That's why we love sharing these sneak peek photos with you when we can.

This situation provides a valuable opportunity for parents and caregivers to educate children about the importance of showing respect for such places and the significance of the sacrifices made by our veterans.

Veterans Memorial Plaza will be open for visitors very soon! Join us on Saturday, November 11th, at 10 a.m., as we come together to honor our veterans during the Veterans Memorial Plaza dedication ceremony.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us create a safe and respectful environment around our Veterans Memorial.
