Plumbing licenses
In an effort to maintain consistency with other jurisdictions, the City of Spring Hill requires building sewer and water service installers to possess a valid Johnson County plumbing contractor's license.
If the installer is in addition to the plumbing contractor listed on the permit that will perform the interior plumbing, please submit the installer's license information with the permit application.
Erosion Control
Job site erosion control methods are to be in accordance with the
Erosion and Sediment Control Standards for the City of Spring Hill. Wattles or Slit fences must be in place once construction has begun, along with the proper temporary construction entrance requirements.
Backwater Valve Requirements
The City of Spring Hill will require backwater valves for sanitary drainage per the 2000 International Residential and Plumbing Codes.
"Fixtures that have flood rims located below the elevation of the next upstream manhole cover of the public sewer serving such fixture shall be protected from backflow of sewage by installing an approved backwater valve.
Fixtures having flood level rims above the elevation of the next upstream manhole shall not discharge through the backwater valve. Backwater valves shall be provided with access."
