City Clerk

Overview

The City Clerk's Office is responsible for:

  • Ensuring that the Open Meetings Act is followed
  • Publishing legal notices through the official City newspaper, the Miami County Republic
  • Serving as Freedom of Information Officer and responding to open records requests
  • Serving as the official record custodian and arranging for publication of all official records, ordinances, and resolutions
  • Researching, maintaining, and codifying the City's municipal code
  • Overseeing management, retention, and destruction of records in accordance with state regulations
  • Issues various licenses required by the City
  • Serving as the City's liaison to the County Election office
  • Serving as a notary public
