Waste Management operating on heat schedule July 1 through Aug. 30. Please have all containers curbside by 6 a.m. each Friday.
The City contracts with Waste Management for garbage and recycling collection. Customers are billed monthly through the City for this service, but questions about collections and pick-up requests should be directed to Waste Management.
To start trash service, fill out the utilities application, which is also used to start sewer and water service for City customers.
The monthly trash rate is $17.11, which includes large item pick up once per month, recycling and yard waste disposal. Senior citizens 65 years of age or older who have trash service in their name receive a discounted rate of $13.08.
All Spring Hill residents will have their weekly trash and recycling pickup on Friday.
Trash is limited to three bags, three cans (both a maximum of 30 gallons); or any 95 gallon cart. Trash in excess of these amounts should be placed in a bag with a pre-paid sticker attached. Stickers are available in sheets of 10 for $15 at City Hall or at Price Chopper customer service, 22350 S. Harrison St. With City Hall being closed due to COVID-19, stickers can also be mailed after payment is made by calling (913) 592-3664 or dropping payment in our dropbox.
Waste Management will pick up any amount of recycling. Use any container, clearly marked as recyclables. Recyclables in trash bags are not accepted. Yard waste will be picked up on most regular trash days. View the 2020 calendar for yard waste pickup.
Waste Management will not collect oil, car batteries, liquefied paint, gasoline, tires, steel pipe, rock, concrete, or construction material. Information on the disposal of hazardous waste is available here.
