Celebrate the magic of the holiday season at Spring Hill’s Hometown Holidays! Kick off the holiday season with community traditions and family-friendly activities on Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Spring Hill Civic Center.
The evening will start with music and the lighting of the Mayor’s Christmas Tree in the Civic Center courtyard. Then, Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive in style on a firetruck, courtesy of Johnson County Fire District No. 1, ready to take photos with the kids and spread cheer.
Guests can enjoy a variety of activities for all ages, including:
- Free professional photos with Santa, perfect for your family Christmas card, courtesy of Todd Riggins at Frozen In Time Photography.
- Children receive a gift from Santa.
- A fun-filled flashlight candy cane hunt hosted by the Spring Hill Recreation Commission.
- A holiday keepsake craft station where families can create lasting mementos of this special night.
- Cookie decorating with Lupita's Kitchen.
- Balloon artists create festive designs.
- Live holiday music to keep the spirit of the season alive.
- Holiday snacks, hot cocoa, and coffee.
- Win cookies at the Rotary Club’s Cookie Walk.
- An interactive booth from the fire department with fun, hands-on activities.
- Make homemade greeting cards for residents in care homes with SHPD Blue Elves.
- Pick out a gift from the SHPD Blue Elves angel tree to shop for a local child in need.
- Visit with the Spring Hill Chamber of Commerce to help you shop local this holiday season.
Hometown Holidays is a free event. We encourage attendees to bring a donation for the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund (MCTF), which benefits local organizations that provide food and utility assistance to Spring Hill residents in need. Donations will be accepted at the event in the form of cash, check, or credit card, and the goal is to raise $8,000 to support our community year-round.
