A PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING THE SPRING HILL HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATING CLASS OF 200

WHEREAS, young people spend over 15,000 hours in the classroom through their secondary education; and

WHEREAS, through their education at school and home, these young people learn, among so many other valuable lessons, the importance of flexibility, teamwork, community and sacrifice; and,

WHEREAS, throughout those 15,000-plus hours, these young people are working toward a special day, graduation, to share their accomplishment with their friends and family; and,

WHEREAS, a pandemic may have stolen their moment it has not stolen their momentum; the class of 2020 serves as an incredible example to us all as they have demonstrated that disappointment need not impact disposition, and  that regardless of circumstances, there remains cause for optimism and belief in the resilience of the human spirit; and,

Ellis, Mayor of the City of Spring Hill, Kansas, do hereby proclaim the month of July 2020 to be SPRING HILL HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 2020 MONTH in the City of Spring Hill, Kansas; and, further proclaim that on Saturday, July 25, 2020, the City of Spring hill, Kansas, shall be renamed BRONCO NATION, KANSAS, for the day, both in honor of the grace and dignity with which the class of 2020 embraced the disruption to their high school experience.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and cause the Seal of the City of Spring Hill, Kansas, to be affixed on this 1st day of July, 2020.
