[ARCHIVED] May 15 update: City Council weighing options for Aquatic Center

Aquatic Center update

Due to the impact of COVID-19, we’ve been researching options for the 2020 season at the Spring Hill Aquatic Center. Last night, May 14, the Governing Body discussed options on what this season may look like. Factors for opening — or not opening — include Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines including social distancing and sanitization measures; staff training restrictions; availability of cleaning products and personal protective equipment; and the economics of opening among other factors. The Council asked staff to explore creative options for a potential opening later this summer. City Council expects to make a final decision on the Aquatic Center at their regular meeting 7 p.m. Thursday, May 28. We hope to provide further information on swim lessons, season passes, facility reservations, events and more at that time.
