[ARCHIVED] City facilities now partially reopened

Reopening Spring Hill

In accordance with the State of Kansas "Ad Astra: A Plan to Reopen Kansas," most City of Spring Hill facilities will reopen to the public June 8. Face masks are strongly encouraged when visiting each facility. Below is a list of notable dates for the City reopening plan: 

June 2

City facilities remain closed with the exception of Municipal Court business only from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 2. Face masks are strongly encouraged if you have a court appearance. Before you arrive, please read our guidance on Municipal Court proceedings. 

No earlier than June 8

All City facilities reopen to the public with the exception being June 16: City Hall only open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for Municipal Court business 

  • Building and room reservations accepted for groups less than 45
  • Council and Board meetings resume in Council Chambers with occupancy limited to 45
  • In person meetings resume
  • Civic Center courtyard designated as entrance only. All other Civic Center exterior doors are exit only. 
  • Meeting rooms and Community Center open to public for groups less than 45

No earlier than July 6

  • Building and room reservations accepted within restrictions of posted occupant loads
  • Civic Center gymnasium reopens
  • Municipal Court resumes per Court established criteria

New procedures for meetings and activities at the Civic Center following CDC guidelines:
(for guests visiting our facilities for longer than 10 minutes)

  • Guests should plan and come prepared for your activity or meeting to limit time needed in the facility.
  • Meetings and/or activities are limited to those participating.
  • All guest must be able to fit in your designated meetings room. Cannot overflow into the hallway.
  • Guests should socialize or wait outside of the facility where social distancing can be achieved.
  • Sanitize your hands upon arriving and before leaving our facilities.
  • Guests will be asked to sign-in.
  • We encourage you to wear a cloth face covering over your nose and mouth.
  • Please stay home if you are sick.
  • Be patient, flexible and kind.
  • Social distancing is highly encouraged throughout the facilities.

Until June 8, our facilities remain closed to the public so that we can ensure compliance with the physical distancing and group size requirements imposed by the State. Still need to conduct City business? We remain available online, by phone or email. Check the link below on how we can help you.


UPDATE MAY 19: City-owned playgrounds reopen May 22. All City facilities including City Hall, Public Works, the Community Center, the Civic Center, Police Department and Wastewater Plant remain closed to the public until further notice.
