Mayor Steven Ellis’ State of Emergency declaration was extended by the City Council March 26.
The emergency declaration relating to COVID-19 was extended until further action is taken by the Governing Body or until the declarations of emergency by Johnson County and Miami County expire.
On March 19, Mayor Steven Ellis declared a State of Emergency within the City even though Johnson and Miami Counties have also declared emergencies. The action was taken to supplement the recent actions taken by Johnson and Miami Counties, meaning that the orders contained in those declarations remain in full force and effect.
City facilities including the playground equipment within each park will remain closed through this period. Parks remain open!
