The Green Board is hoping you are enjoying the warm summer weather, with an eye to the upcoming Spring Hill Fall Festival just around the corner in September. This year the date has been moved to the last weekend, and on Saturday Sept. 30, in City Park, your very own Green Board will host its second annual Junkyard Treasures sculpture contest!
How do you enter? It’s simple. Create a sculpture out of recycled items, deliver it to City Park between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., to be voted upon by the festival attendees, so bring your friends and family. There are three age categories: 0-12, 13-19 and 20+. People may vote once for each category.
Winners (in each category) will be announced at 2 p.m. You don’t have to be present to win. First prize is a family season pass to the Spring Hill Aquatic Center! All Junkyard Treasures must be removed from the park by 5 p.m. Saturday.
So, as the weather begins to cool, we hope you’ll begin creating your own Junkyard Treasure!
