[ARCHIVED] First Neighborhood Walk & Talks arrive in May

Have questions, concerns, compliments, or requests for Spring Hill City staff and elected officials? Join us for the third annual Neighborhood Walk & Talks!

Over the course of five Monday evenings this summer, Mayor Steven Ellis, members of the City Council, and City staff will visit each area of the City to talk about issues that are important to each neighborhood's residents.

Popular topics at our previous Walk & Talks include:

  • Requests for minor repairs. Residents have often pointed out pavement cracks, crooked signs, and street light outages that were quickly fixed after the Walk & Talk.
  • Updates on ongoing/future City projects. Veterans Park, the Civic Center revitalization, and economic development initiatives have been discussed each year.
  • Area development projects like new subdivisions and expansions of existing neighborhoods.
  • Codes issues. Unmowed lots and trash pick-up are issues that were addressed in a timely manner once City staff were informed.

The tentative schedule and list of meeting places is as follows:

  • May 15:  Wolf Creek Estates, 5:30 p.m. at the pool | Prairie Ridge, 6 p.m. at the pool | Brookwood Farms, 6:30 p.m. at the pool
  • May 22:  Maple Ridge, 5:30 p.m. at the far southern end of Falcon Ridge Drive | Woodland Ridge, 6:15 p.m.
  • June 5: Original Town west of Webster, The Meadows, and Autumn Valley, 5:30 p.m. at City Park gazebo | Original Town east of Webster, 6:15 p.m. at the Spring Hill Police Station Department.
  • June 12:  Village at Spring Hill, Victory Woods, and Village on Victory, 5:30 p.m. at the Spring Hill Community Center.
  • June 19:  Blackhawk, Feather Ridge, Summerhill Acres, Heritage Glen, and Sweetwater Creek, 5:30 p.m. at Blackhawk Park.

Inclement weather and unforeseen events may require some of these meeting dates to change. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter or watch the City website for updates.
