On January 20 at approximately 3:50 p.m. the Spring Hill Police Department responded to a call reporting possible explosives in a vehicle located near Hale and Main Streets.

The responding officers contacted bomb technicians from the Olathe Fire Department and a K-9 team from the Shawnee Police Department as a precautionary measure. Upon examination, the suspicious items were confirmed to be road flares.

The scene was cleared without incident at approximately 5:40 p.m.
