With the Ridgeview Road sidewalk project completed, contractors are ready to tackle the second of four long-anticipated City infrastructure projects scheduled for late summer.
Kansas Heavy Construction recently wrapped up work on the sidewalk connecting Estates of Wolf Creek to Spring Hill High School. Flashing beacons for the crosswalk will be installed later this week.
The contractors have now begun work on the subgrade of Victory Road and plan to finish this stage of the project by August 19. During construction, portions of Victory Road will be closed.
Miami County Road and Bridge crews plan to complete the first of two chip seals on Victory Road on August 22. This process should only take one day, and one lane will be open at all times. A second chip seal will be applied within the next few weeks.
Construction of the Webster Street acceleration lane is slated to begin August 22 as well. Webster Street will be reduced to two lanes with no left turn lane during construction. This project is estimated to be completed by early September.
The Veterans Park access road, Veterans Lane, will be the last of the four projects to be completed this summer. Construction is planned to begin on September 6 and finish by the end of the month. During part of the construction, 199th Street will be reduced to one lane with flagmen directing traffic.
All four of these projects are on-schedule and under-budget. Watch our social media pages for any last-minute changes to this schedule.
