Human Resources

The City of Spring Hill's Human Resources staff partners with all departments to hire a diverse workforce dedicated to serving the residents of Spring Hill.
In addition to overseeing the recruitment process, Human Resources is responsible for compliance with state and federal employment laws, benefits and compensation management, employee relations, workers compensation, and risk management.

Benefits, Wellness and Payroll Administration

Spring Hill's HR staff develops group benefit plans and wellness programs that support the City's goal of recruiting and retaining a highly qualified and competent workforce.
This office is also responsible for reviewing and developing funding strategies for benefit packages, serving as the designated agent for all current retirement plans, overseeing payroll systems, administering leave time and payroll deductions and ensuring that City pay systems are in compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act and applicable state and local wage laws.

Risk Management

The City's workers' compensation program and safety training programs are administered by Human Resources. Staff also coordinate the provision of insurance coverage, regulatory compliance and reporting requirement; ensure City departments are provided appropriate access to business insurance; set funding levels to mitigate risks associated with providing municipal services, and develop and deploy resources to departments and front-line employees to promote employee safety.

Workforce Services

Human Resources staff support departments' recruitment initiatives, administer compensation and pay plans, conduct job classification reviews, administer the performance review system and employee training and development, develop personnel policies that promote a work environment that encourages healthy, respectful and rewarding employee relations and oversees citywide compliance with employment laws by providing training programs that promote employment best practices within the workforce.
