On June 26, 2008 the Spring Hill City Council adopted the Comprehensive Park Master Plan. The plan was designed to strengthen commitments to a strong park and trail system, recreation facilities, and recreation programs through the City of Spring Hill, the Spring Hill School District, and the Spring Hill Recreation Commission.
Since the plan's adoption, the City of Spring Hill has taken great strides to accomplish its recommendations. The Spring Hill Aquatic Center, a state-of-the-art facility with more than a dozen attractions, opened in 2010, and many upgrades have been made to existing parks.
City officials expect to break ground on Veterans Park at City Lake later in 2017.
